PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc:
In 1989 Leybold AG sold the electron beam welding businesses in Maintal, Germany and Enfield, CT USA to Integral Hydraulics in Remagen, Germany. These two divisions were renamed PTR-Praezisionstechnik GmbH and PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. In the early 2000's PTR/Germany and PTR/US were aquired by IGM Robotersystems AG, who had previously acquired SST-Steigerwald Strahltechnik in Puchiem, Germany, one of PTR’s major competitors in the EB field. In 2004 all three of these EB equipment manufacturers were combined under a single group initially called All Welding Technologies (AWT) and more recently renamed Global Beam Technologies AG (GBT).
